RMA's Eagle News Network Wins STN National Awards.
Riverside Military Academy’s cadet-produced Eagle News Network (ENN) earned national recognition in the recent Student Television Network’s (STN) Virtual Convention, competing against high school teams from across the country. RMA joins White County HS in Cleveland, GA and Centennial HS in Roswell, GA as the only schools in the state to be recognized.

Last week, the ENN team, 21 RMA cadets who manage the Academy’s cadet-produced news show, competed in the national competition. ENN submitted eight entries and earned second place with their GoPro commercial and third place in the pet adoption public service announcement during STN’s Closing Ceremonies on Saturday February 20.

ENN is RMA’s broadcast video production program where cadets are trained using industry-standard equipment and journalism practices while earning academic credit in the fine arts. Cadets must apply and interview before being selected to be on the ENN team, which is cadet-run under the direction of Mr. Zach Garrett, RMA’s instructor of video production and a 2011 RMA graduate.  Begun in the spring of 2018, ENN produces one episode every two weeks and has aired over 40 episodes and special features on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, and has over 125,000 collective views.

STN is a non-profit international association of high school and middle school broadcast journalism, film, and multimedia programs.  RMA’s ENN team has been affiliated since June 2019 and these total now five awards from the organization this academic year.
