A recap of all of the athletics results from over the weekend.
Swimming
Our RMA Eagle Swimming Team repeated as Hall County Champions this past Saturday at the Francis Meadows Aquatic Center. The swimmers performed above expectations, which contributed to a very lopsided victory, probably the largest point spread for the history of this meet between first place Riverside (345) and the runner-up, Gainesville High School (219).
Some of the many highlighted outstanding performances were the following, who qualified for the GHSA State Championships that will be held the first weekend in February:

  • 200 yd Medley Relay – Yanxia Bu, John Lavelle, Gage Fletcher, Ryan Little
  • 200 yd Freestyle Relay – Cameron Nedza, Gage Fletcher, Garrett Dalley, Ryan Little
  • 400 yd Freestyle Relay – Andrew Okingo, Ryan Little, Garrett Dalley, Cameron Nedza
  • 100 yd breaststroke – John Lavelle
High School Results:
1. Riverside Military Academy 345
2. Gainesville High School 219
3. Flowery Branch Falcons 157
4. North Hall High School 122
5. West Hall High School 49
6. Lakeview Academy 12
7. Chestatee High School 11

The RMA Middle Schoolers also swam their best performances, but they were overpowered by Chestatee, Gainesville, and Flowery Branch; our MS Eagles placed 4th. A noteworthy performance came from Wesley Paul who placed 1st in the 100yd freestyle and placed 2nd in two other events.  Riverside’s 200 yd freestyle relay placed 1st, the team of Nikita Novov, Jason Li, Michael Garrard and Carson Chapman.
Richard Oeser, an 8th grader, placed 2nd in one event, and 3rd in two events. We are very proud of our middle school swimmers, they well represented Riverside, and are the future of Eagle swimming.

Middle School Results:
1. Chestatee Middle School 142
2. Gainesville Middle School 135
3. Flowery Branch Falcons 129
4. Riverside Military Academy 109
5. North Hall Middle School 84
