Student Affairs
Community Service
Community service is very important to the cadets, and they truly enjoy a chance to give back to the community. Student Affairs, Student Senate, and others conducted several outstanding events throughout the month of March. Below you will find a list of community service events we conducted along with what is happening in April. Parents can support our food drive and school supply/book drive starting in late April. Details to follow.
Recent events include a book reading at a local elementary school, sprucing up a WWII Veteran’s Home, and building of handicap accessible ramps. See photos below.
President’s Club Activities and Events
The 4th Quarter President’s Club List is scheduled to be finalized by 3/29/2022. During the third quarter, we were able to take our middle school guys to the Mitchel Quarters (the President's home). It was a very exciting time; the guys were full of questions and, eventually, good food. We schedule an off-campus event for middle school and high school cadets monthly, and next month, we are excited to give the MS and HS President’s Club members a chance to leave campus to enjoy a baseball game. The Gwinnett Stripers are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. We are planning to go to the Stripers VS Nashville Sounds game on April 15th!

Goomba Grill Nights
Goomba Grill nights continue to be a popular topic and place for the boys. The updated menu, the added games, and the ability to have this option during the week is a winner. Working with the Student Senate, we are consistently in communication about bigger and better things for the grill. We look forward to adding more options for our cadets to enjoy.
Off Campus Trips
The Student Affairs Department was excited to offer our middle school cadets a chance to get away during the Military Ball. We planned a fun-filled day, starting at Stars and Strikes where the guys bowled several games, enjoyed video games, and bumper cars. Our next stop was a private movie theater, where one cadet said, "We have our own theater!" We watched an action-packed movie called, "Uncharted" rated PG-13. To finish up a great day, we took them to Stevi B’s Pizza Buffet to enjoy all the different types of pizza and games. It was a pleasure to take those guys off campus and watch them relax and just enjoy each other’s company. The Walmart trips are always a blast. We schedule them once a week and take them to Walmart and usually go for food afterward. It is great to hear their excitement in being able to purchase their Pop-Tarts and Gatorades.
Student Senate
The Student Senate has been very productive. They meet every Thursday to discuss the issues and concerns of our cadets and create a plan to resolve those issues. Lately, they have been working on adding more food choices and items to the Goomba Grill. The president of the Student Senate, Mr. Alex Pombo, works hard to provide a voice for all cadets. His senators are extremely vital and hard-working as well. Their biggest goal before the end of the year is to update the Goomba Grill by adding new game systems, furniture, and food options.
New Clubs and Intramurals
Springtime is here, and the General Sports and Athletics period has some exciting new developments coming out of the Student Affairs Department.
Chess Club
The Middle School and High School Chess Clubs have been gifted high-quality speed-chess timers and additional seating by a generous donor. Thank you!
Combat Archery
We are pleased to introduce an addition to our intramural sports program. Each company will have a chance to practice archery safely, while learning the fundamentals and applying them in Archery Tag Fashion. Each team member will be required to wear headwear which protects the eyes and will engage in multiple game modes and team scenarios. The game rules are played similarly to traditional dodge ball but has a pace like paintball or airsoft; and will utilize barriers and bunkers for each side. The arrows have been modified with a special patented "marshmallow" tip that allows a safe exchange of arrows.
A Message from the Chaplain
Hope this finds you all doing well! March was a busy month as we held several community service projects, continued chapel and Bible study on campus, and began to offer more off-campus church opportunities. For Ash Wednesday, we had the opportunity to take cadets off campus to remember this important day (along with getting some good food)!
Sunday Night Chapel continues to be a great opportunity for cadets to serve and lead their fellow Brothers in Blue. We also have RMA Staff and Faculty offering to help lead worship, pray, and preach during this time as well! Sunday Night Chapel is truly a great time of fellowship and encouragement for Christians across campus! Lastly, we appreciate all your prayers and support for the Postell family and cadets. RMA honored his family with a memorial ceremony that the cadets did a phenomenal job supporting.
