Riverside Military Academy to Start a Model United Nations Team

The Model United Nations Team will be advised by Mr. Andrew Pedry of the Social Studies department.
The club will be open to interested and capable middle and high school students; those unable to attend competitions for fiscal or scheduling reasons will still be able to participate in the club by assisting with research and drafting resolutions, practice sessions and perfection of the team's debate skills and understanding of the Parliamentary procedure.

RMAMUN will be advised by Mr. Andrew Pedry of the Social Studies department. Mr. Pedry spent a significant portion of his youth living overseas as a State Department dependent, has traveled abroad as a tourist (and RMA overseas trip chaperone!), been posted to Okinawa and the South Pacific with the Marine Corps, was part of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and served as a Fulbright Fellow to Montenegro with his family in 2012-2013. Our blog from that year can be found at https://fulbrightinmontenegro.wordpress.com/page/5/ for those interested.

MUN is an opportunity for Cadets to engage in an academic competition with other students, more deeply investigate the world around them, and learn to listen more carefully and empathize more deeply with their fellow Cadets from around the world.

If you are interested in supporting MUN financially please reach out to the Riverside Military Academy development office or directly to Mr. Pedry at apedry@riversidemilitary.com. MUN competitions take place over multiple days and with the necessity of travel, hotel accommodations, etc., as such they are fairly pricey. We would love to open this club's full potential to all of our most qualified and interested cadets regardless of economic background. If you can help us with that please let us know. Thank you, and stay tuned for photos, updates, and more information as the club progresses!
