Coach Marc Paglia coordinates and administers 13 GHSA varsity and junior varsity level athletic programs in addition to seven 7th & 8th-grade middle school programs.
Marc was born in Detroit, Michigan. He acquired his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University. He earned his Master of Science in Education Technology from Walden University.
He began his teaching career as a math teacher and swim coach at East Lansing High School and continued to teach mathematics and coach swimming at Armstrong State College (now Armstrong Atlantic University) in Savannah, GA for four years prior to his assignment at Riverside Military Academy.
Embarking on his 29th year at Riverside, Marc has served the Academy as a math teacher and three years as Mathematics Department Chair. In 2011, he was appointed Athletic Director and continues to teach math and coach. He has received the Professional Association of Georgia Educator’s Star Teacher award three times. He has been recognized as RMA 2011 Teacher of the Year and as a 2012 Hall County Master Teacher.
Marc has led and continues to serve as the Academy’s Swim Team Coach, leading our team to the State Championships each year since 2003. He received the GHSA Swim “Coach of the Year” award in 1998 and the GISA Swim “Coach of the Year” award for six consecutive years. He was inducted into Riverside Military Academy’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
Marc is married to Mary Paglia, who is employed in the RMA Advancement Office.
