Summer Leadership Academy

Get a Head Start in Leadership and Service through RMA's Summer Leadership Academy!

The Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) is a three-week summer program for rising 6th-12th grade students, offered July 10-30, 2022.

More than a Summer Camp

SLA is like a summer camp, adventurous and fun, but because it is designed to prepare students for military school or a future in the service, it is much more than a summer camp! SLA will help your student reach his full potential and develop leadership skills for a successful future!

Activities and Excursions

Summer Leadership Academy is offered to male students who have an interest in the ROTC academy or military school. In addition to leadership development, students will receive a highly structured experience, giving them a better understanding of and preparation for service. SLA activities include:
  • Patrolling, rappelling, orienteering, and mountaineering
  • Whitewater rafting
  • Army installations to Ft. Benning and Camp Merrill
  • Service Academy and ROTC scholarship prep
  • Peer leadership opportunities
  • Public speaking, critical thinking, tactical training, and military planning
  • Drill and ceremony
  • Graduation ceremony (July 30, 2022)
Participants will discuss and begin several entry requirements for ROTC or service academy including the application process, essay, and physical fitness tests.
