Airsoft Team Airsoft at Riverside Military Academy

Airsoft is a military simulation team sport where players participate in small-unit mock combat with replicant military-style weapons and tactics. Airsoft uses 6mm round BBs made of hard plastic. Gameplay varies in style and composition but often range from short-term skirmishes, organized scenarios, close quarters battle, historical reenactments, and more. All participants are required to wear eye protection.
Our cadets train on an outdoor airsoft course located on Riverside's campus as well as various indoor courses at off-campus locations. Learn more about RMA Airsoft.

Aviation Program

In Riverside's off-campus flight program, cadets may train to receive a pilot's license. Cadets have the opportunity to work toward and earn their Basic Pilot Certification in one semester and may work on advanced pilot certifications during following semesters. http://www.lanierflightcenter.com/flight-training/

Band Program

The RMA Band Program offers Military Marching Band, Football Band, three Concert Bands, three Percussion Ensembles, The Grenadiers Drum and Bugle Corps, The Commanders Jazz Band, Clarinet Choir, and various chamber ensembles. Class ability levels range from beginner to advanced.

Bayonet Yearbook Staff

Riverside cadets practice their photography skills while capturing photos of campus events from athletic competitions to parades and community involvement opportunities. They also learn how to use publishing software. Cadets then work with a faculty advisor to compile, edit, and publish an annual RMA yearbook called the Bayonet.

Boys Scouts at Riverside Military AcademyBoy Scouts of America

Riverside Military Academy's Boy Scouts can meet weekly with local Troop 26 of Northeast Georgia (http://nega-bsa.org/programs/) to enjoy fellowship and develop their skills. They also go on regular outings and camping trips. Many of our students have been able to become an Eagle Scout while attending Riverside. The Eagle Scout badge is the highest rank a young man can achieve in the Boy Scouts of America.

Chorus

The RMA Men's Chorus participates in the Georgia Music Educators Association All State Chorus and 9th Distric Honor Chorus. They receive invitations to perform at various community events throughout the school year. Our chorus members also audition to sing the National Anthem at sporting events such as the Gwinnett and Atlanta Braves’ games.

Community Service

Riverside's community service opportunities, coordinated by our Commandant's Office, allows cadets to volunteer for a broad range of service organizations that make a positive impact in the community. Many of our cadets continue donating their time to community service projects during school furloughs.

Comprehensive Fitness Club

The comprehensive fitness club's purpose is to educate and mentor cadets on all aspects of fitness and wellness to include physical, mental, social, and emotional wellness. Cadets receive guidance and coaching on nutrition, weight training, cardiovascular, CrossFit, flexibility, and various aspects of comprehensive fitness. Participants will also receive training and nutrition guidance from certified personal trainers and professional competitors in the fitness industry.

Drama/Theatre

Our Performing Arts students enjoy performing a wide range of plays and musicals for Riverside and community members. RMA Cadets excel in the spotlight and have competed in regional and state competitions including the State Literary Meet.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Riverside Military Academy The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) challenges coaches and athletes to use athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest interdenominational, school-based, Christian sports organization in the U.S. It focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Fencing Club

The Fencing Club provides cadets guided instruction in two complementary forms of classical Western swordplay: that of high medieval Germany (influenced though it was by French and Italian styles) and the modern Olympic art of foil, epee and sabre fencing. Learn more about RMA Fencing.

Fishing Club

Fishing Club members spend an afternoon each week learning various aspects of fishing from tying knots to boating regulations to water conservation and other practical lessons. Dues for the club cover member dues, Bass Pro Shops sponsored insurance, a Georgia Fishing License, Boaters Safety Classes and Card.

Golf Club

The Golf Club provides cadets of all ability levels the opportunity to hone their skills on a weekly basis. Cadets play at the Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville, Georgia during fall semester. Cadets also have the ability to purchase an annual golf membership that allows them to play multiple times per week (schedule dependent).

Honor Council

Riverside's Honor Council is a peer-elected organization responsible for promoting the Academy's Honor Code: "A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do."

Horton Society

Students in the Horton Society are dedicated to performing good works and serving as ambassadors, both on campus and in the community. Cadets can be elected by their peers to this prestigious organization following a minimum of one year attending RMA.

International Club

The International Club meets monthly to study the locations, customs, traditions and foods of other countries. The club is open to all students as we celebrate the diverse geographic population of our Corps of Cadets.

JETS-TSA Club

The Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS) Club at Riverside is an affiliate of the national Technology Student Association (TSA). JETS Club engages students in various engineering education programs designed to encourage secondary school students to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors at colleges and universities. Our JETS activities include engineering and technology-related competitions hosted by TSA state and national chapters, visits to engineering and technology enterprises, and presentations from guest speakers in related fields.

Jewish Students Association

Students in the Jewish Students Association gather weekly to study about their faith. These cadets also observe and celebrate seasonal holidays.

Library Forum

The Library Forum is a consortium of students who like to read, discuss, and think about different types of library media and management. They provide reviews of books, blogs, websites, and virtual tours for the student body of RMA. Forum members are engaged to maintain the Riverside Library collection through their community service hours. Students also manage the Library's book sale in order to supply the necessary funds for club activities.

Mechanics Club

In Riverside's Mechanics Club, cadets can learn to weld, wire, fabricate, and use a variety of hand tools for practical application in automotive maintenance and repair.

National History Club

The mission of the National History Club, as part of a nation-wide organization of similar high school chapters, is to promote general interest in all fields of history/historical study through student and community involvement. In addition to meetings and field trips pertaining to history, Riverside's club envisions additional opportunities such as: historical film night series, RMA Museum/Artifact Curatorship Program, oral history project (interacting with area Veterans and Seniors), lecture series (in partnership with area colleges/universities), college classroom visits, historical video/film vignettes, reenactments, focused scholarship, fundraising, peer-tutoring, and more.

National Honor Society at Riverside Military AcademyNational Honor Society

Students in grades 10-12 are selected for the National Honor Society on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

National Junior Honor Society

Students in grades 7-9 are selected for the National Junior Honor Society on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Peer Tutoring Association

Peer tutors are cadets who assist as academic leaders and tutors in the dormitory. They are selected for these important roles on the basis of scholarship and character.

Red Cross Club

The Riverside Red Cross Club is guided by the fundamental principles of the American Red Cross and its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Participants will learn, practice, and exemplify humanitarian values through mission-related service projects (per the Constitution of the American Red Cross Club).

Russian Club

Riverside's Russian Club gives cadets from Russian speaking backgrounds the chance to increase their linguistic and cultural understanding. Some club members were adopted from Russia and are attempting to recover language ability from their childhood. Other members are native Russian speakers and want to pass along their cultural knowledge to younger cadets in the club. A few others have neither Russian language background nor ethnic ties to Russia, but they want to learn one of the world’s most difficult languages.

Sailing Club - Riverside Military AcademySailing Club

Riverside's Sailing Club launched in Spring 2016 with cadets ranging from novice to 5+ years of sailing experience. The club meets at Lake Lanier Sailing Club where they sail in Club 420 dinghies under the tutelage of Lake Lanier Sailing Club Junior Sailing Program instructors.
Cadets learn capsize drills, water safety, and other practical skills followed by hours of sailing on Lake Lanier. Club members also have opportunities to participate in sailing regattas that promote the enjoyment of sailing and skill development in young sailors.

Science National Honor Society

The Science National Honor Society's (SNHS) goal is to engender a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America. The society encourages and recognizes scientific and intellectual thought, advances student knowledge of classical and modern science, communicates with the scientific community, and aids the civic community with its comprehension of science. SNHS also encourages students to participate in community service, and in turn, encourages a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind. Technology Club

The Technology Club is for computer enthusiasts who like to have fun and learn more about multi-media, hardware, and open source (code) software. In addition to developing games, members earn points for solving problems beyond their domain. The Technology Club's Cyber Eagles Team also participates in the Cyber Patriot Program sponsored by the United States Air Force for all Cyber enthusiasts. The team competes in the Naional Youth Cyber Defense Competition.

Tennis Club

The Tennis Club provides cadets of all ability levels the opportunity to improve their skills with a certified tennis instructor. The club meets three times per week and is open to cadets ranging from beginners to competitive.

Tri-M Music Honor Society

Tri-M is a national music honor society for high school students. Its members are selected on the basis of musical ability, scholarship and character.
