Employer Matching Gifts
In 1954 the General Electric Foundation introduced a new concept to the corporate world of philanthropy. The matching gift program allowed General Electric to support the colleges and universities that had educated its employees and encouraged its employees to contribute to their own alma maters.
Today over 15,000 corporations in America have established similar programs, which match an employee's gift to his or her college, university, or private secondary school. The matching ratios and the eligible schools and organizations vary from company to company, but it's worth a moment of time to check with your employer's Human Resources office to see if your gift to Riverside can be matched. Riverside is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.
A partial list of companies that match their employees' gifts include:
- AT&T
- Coca-Cola Co.
- Delta Airlines
- Georgia Power
- Macy's
- PepsiCo
- Time Warner
- UBS
Join the many Riverside alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who utilitize a matching program to make their gifts go further. Riverside and its cadets thank you!
