Atlanta Veteran's Day Parade Information

31st Annual Atlanta Veteran's Day Parade
The Riverside Military Academy Corps of Cadets will march in the Atlanta Veteran's Day Parade, one of the nation's largest Veteran's Day events, on November 10, 2012.
This year’s parade theme is “Welcome Home Iraqi War Veterans” and will pay special tribute to the official end of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The parade Grand Marshal will be Actor/Producer Tim Abell, a former Army Ranger who is the 2012 Chairman of the Board for the Ranger/Special Operations mentoring program, GallantFew. He serves on the board of American Soldiers Networks and on the U.S. Army Advisory Council in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Abell is also the host of Outdoor Channel's Grateful Nation, a television show which takes returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan on hunting trips around the world.
Riverside family members and alumni are encouraged to gather at the Reviewing Stand to watch the RMA Corps of Cadets perform in front of the judges. RMA has won the President's Trophy for best marching unit the previous three years, and we hope to bring home another trophy this year! The Corps would love to have all of their supporters cheering them on in front of the judges. Please wear RMA apparel or royal blue and white colors in support of our Corps during their performance.
The parade will begin at 11:11 a.m. The route starts in Downtown Atlanta on West Peachtree Street south of Ralph McGill/Ivan Allen Blvd. The Parade will proceed south on Peachtree Street NE and then turn right onto Baker Street heading toward Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola, and the Georgia Aquarium. The Parade will turn left onto Marietta Street NW and continue to the finish line at the end of this street. The Parade Reviewing Stand will be located on Baker Street between the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium.
Many special events will be occuring after the parade at the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, the National Museum of Patriotism, and CNN Studios in honor of National Military Appreciation Week.
The roads will close early for parade preparation, so please allow plenty of time for travel and parking. If you choose to take advantage of the CNN Center parking provided for RMA alumni, family, and friends, please print and display the following permit on the dashboard of your vehicle:
