Boarding Middle School for Boys

The focus at Riverside Military Academy is on preparing young men for college. We begin that process during the middle school years, which includes grades 7 and 8 at Riverside.
Our program is based on the developmental readiness, needs, and interests of young adolescent boys. In addition to the course material covered in each class, Riverside faculty members teach our cadets organization, time management, and study skills in order to build a solid academic foundation.
Over 70% of our teaching faculty has master's level degrees or higher. They plan and work together with cadets to help each boy achieve academic and personal success through active learning opportunities and interdisciplinary lessons.
The curriculum and structure of Riverside allow for shorter class times and hands-on activities to capture and maintain a young man's interest in each subject area. Our cadets enjoy the benefit of a 14:1 student-teacher ratio that provides individual attention in the classroom as well as during study hours.
Riverside also introduces middle school students to the fine arts and foreign language opportunities they will have available to them in high school. All middle school cadets participate in a class that rotates quarterly through two languages and two fine arts classes each year.
At Riverside, we plan not just for the year but for the years. Our ultimate goal is to see your son succeed in college and in life!
