Academic Bowl Team

Riverside’s academic quiz bowl team competes against teams from other local schools to test their knowledge.

Advanced Training Platoon

The ATP is composed of cadets interested in gaining a better understanding of military training and careers in public service. The ATP meets several times per week to maintain the course for weekly paintball and Airsoft games.

Cadets can earn their pilot's license through an off-campus training program.

Aviation Program

In Riverside’s off-campus flight program, cadets can train to receive their pilot’s license. Cadets may work toward and earn their Basic Pilot Certification in one semester and may work on advanced pilot certifications in following semesters.

Boy Scouts of America

Riverside’s Boy Scout troop meets weekly to enjoy fellowship and develop skills. They also go on regular outings and camping trips. Several students have been able to work toward and complete Eagle Scout projects at Riverside.

Color Guard

Riverside’s color guard, which promotes pride, citizenship and respect through the display of the flag, represents the academy at many community events.

 

Drill Team

The drill team, known as the Fusiliers, participates in competitive programs to demonstrate precision drill and ceremony skills.  It is very important to have all members present for practice every day because of the precision that must be attained for perfection.  The team is also in demand out of season for other RMA events and must be able to practice to be able to perform successfully.  The team will practice every morning 7:00 - 7:45 and every evening 3:45 - 5:00.



Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Riverside chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a student-led group, assisted by the academy’s chaplain, that shares devotionals, fellowship and social activities.

Honor Council

Riverside’s Honor Council is a peer-elected organization responsible for promoting the academy’s honor code: “A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do.”

Horton Society

Students in the Horton Society are dedicated to performing good works and serving as ambassadors, both on campus and in the community.

International Club

The International Club meets monthly to study the locations, customs, traditions and foods of other countries. The club is open to all students as we celebrate the diverse geographic population of our Corps of Cadets.

Jewish Students Association

Students in the Jewish Students Association gather weekly to study their faith and to observe seasonal holidays.

Literary Society

Students in the Literary Society produce an annual compilation, called Spinners, featuring cadets’ creative writing and artwork.

Multimedia Club

Riverside's Advanced Multimedia Club gives students the opportunity to learn and develop skills — including writing, graphic design and video production — in multimedia design.  The group produces an annual DVD honoring the senior class and recently developed a DVD commemorating the academy's centennial.

National Honor Society

Students in grades 10-12 are selected for the National Honor Society on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

National Junior Honor Society

Students in grades 7-9 are selected for the National Junior Honor Society on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Riverside’s inaugural class of NJHS members was inducted in 2007.

Peer Tutoring Association

Peer tutors are cadets who assist as academic leaders and tutors in the dormitory. They are selected for these important roles on the basis of scholarship and character.

Raiders Team

RMA Raiders compete in outdoor adventure activities.

The Raider team consists of a 12-man team. The members must be motivated and display teamwork, physical fitness and discipline. Each member of the team relies on each other to perform various physical events. As a team member, members can expect to run 8-10 miles in any competition. Team competition events vary from school to school. Most school events consist of the following: Physical Fitness test consisting of Push-ups; Sit-ups and 2 mile run; Litter carry with 6 rucksacks weighing 45 pounds each and the litter weighing 145 pound over a 1 mile course of rugged terrain; Obstacle course; a one rope bridge across water; 3 to 5 mile team run; and any other event that schools would require at their competition.  Rangers

Cadets in the RMA Rangers program are selected on the basis of academics, discipline and physical fitness. In addition to weekend adventure trips that include hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing, Rangers perform various on-campus duties, including the firing on the Riverside cannon at home football games.

Tri-M Music Honor Society

Tri-M is a national music honor society for high school students.  Its members are selected on the basis of musical ability, scholarship and character.
