College Preparation
At Riverside, our focus is to help boys reach their college goals. Almost all of our cadets go on to two or four year colleges and universities. Our graduates are attending Auburn, The Citadel, Clemson, Florida State, University of California-Berkely, Furman, the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Georgia College & State University, Kennesaw State University, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, New York University, NC State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tulane, the Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy, among others.
Riverside’s College Center helps cadets maximize their potential when it comes to college. From application to acceptance, our college counseling staff works with cadets on an individual basis throughout their journey. First, students develop their list of “Reach, Possible and Likely” schools. In the College Center, students can research colleges and scholarship opportunities, complete applications, and write application essays.
Our cadets have many opportunities to learn more about the schools available to them and what they have to offer. Each school year, the College Center hosts more than 30 visits by college representatives from all over the country. Also, cadets take advantage of college fairs that give them the opportunity to meet college representatives face-to-face, ask specific questions about schools that interest them, and to learn admissions requirements. Riverside also encourages cadets to visit colleges and take advantage of “shadowing experiences.”
Finally, the College Center helps you and your son find a college that is the right fit geographically, financially and academically.
